Image of Political Leaders and Confidence in Institutions III
2009-01-26The goal of this survey is to determine the Turkish public's view of its prominent political leaders. Also, views on EU membership and approval of Kurdish broadcasting TRT-6 are surveyed. At the same time as it is every month, happiness in life, the direction that Turkey has been going, public faith and trust for political leaders and vote potentials are measured.
Just before the report of this survey was published, the heated debate in Davos over Gaza took place. In response, to measure public's view of the events, on January 30th, 2009 we conducted a survey about "Davos Crisis.“ Also in that survey R. Tayyip Erdogan's image was surveyed. To demonstrate the impact of Davos events on Prime minister's image in comparison to earlier measurements, those results are also included in this report.
The poll was conducted from Jan.24 to 26 by telephone among a random national sampling of 1,348 adults residing in cities, towns and villages. The margin of error for the overall poll is 2.7 percentage points, at a 95 percent confidence level.
