The overall purpose of this research is to survey public's opinion on the recently initiated democratic reform process and the Kurdish initiative. The scope of the study is primarily defined by both governing party's actions and discourses concerning this process and the opposing parties' attitudes and discourses towards this process broadly define the scope of the study. At the same time as it is every month, happiness in life, the direction that Turkey has been going, vote potentials of political parties, and public faith and trust for political leaders are surveyed. The poll was conducted from August 22 to 23, 2009 by telephone among a random national sampling of 1209 adults residing in cities, towns and villages. The margin of error for the overall poll is 2,75 percentage points, at a 95 percent confidence level.
